The following is my first post, which is a bit of a hybrid between what I post here and on the VibeBuilders.ai newsletter.
If you like this topic, I invite you to join me there because as of now I will still use the Jordan Urbs Content Hour to keep you updated on my build-in-public, behind-the-scenes activities.
“Vibe coding” has turned from trend to new niche, while branching into various forms: vibe marketing, vibe building, vibe writing, etc.
Yet the base idea is understood differently by two distinct groups:
- Coders
- Non-Coders
For coders, vibe coding means having an AI co-pilot to handle the heavy lifting while they supervise.
For non-coders, it’s much more profound: the power to finally build the software they’ve always dreamed of.
What used to require years of education and experience now requires confidence and $20/month.
Education beyond the fundamentals is no longer necessary. Anyone with the confidence to learn on their own can easily spend the time to watch YouTube, play with a git repo in the command line, and teach Cursor to ship their app idea. (Heck, StackOverflow is hardly needed anymore.)
Funding and hiring are no longer necessary to ship Minimum Viable Products. With fewer obstacles slowing down the flow of MVPs, experience is now gained exponentially faster than before.
Personally, I got lucky.
After 25 years of trying to figure out code, from PERL to PHP to Node.js (oh, and then 10 years of stressing to find the funds to hire devs for my next great idea)…
I CAN FINALLY BUILD WHATEVER I WANT!
Are you feeling it too? You can build your directory, your app, your platform without having to spend thousands on education and years for experience.
So where does this leave us?
In a world where barriers have fallen and possibilities have expanded.
Whether you're a seasoned coder looking to accelerate your workflow, or someone who's dreamed of building but lacked the technical skills, the "vibe" revolution is democratizing creation itself.
This isn't just about making coding easier—it's about unlocking human potential.
The next breakthrough app, the next life-changing platform, the next innovative solution might not come from Silicon Valley or a computer science department, but from someone who simply had an idea and the confidence to bring it to life.
(I mean hey, that’s already happening. I didn’t make up the indie startup revolution.)
I invite you to join this revolution. Start building. Start creating.
The tools are here, the time is now, and the only question that remains is: what will you make first?
Get started vibe building in 5 steps:
- Start with a no-code tool like Bolt or Lovable. Prompt it to make something simple but useful and fun.
- Get inspired by YouTube videos that show you how to expand on your first no-code builds.
- Take my free 5-day Bootcamp to get comfy with the command line (no don’t worry, you won’t become a huge cybernerd just yet).
- Watch more YouTube videos for more inspiration.
- Start playing with Cursor and get your mind blown.
Everyone’s journey is different. But first you have to see what’s possible.
I’ll see you on the other side.
